The
Centipede 1200 is a high performance, automated, button cycling machine. It’s high speed, accuracy, and flexibility make the
Centipede 1200 an ideal solution for product life cycle testing. It's
12 independent servo axis enable the Centipede 1200 to perform 12
independent tests on a product. Each actuator can be
independently programmed to press to a force or deflection for a set
number of cycles. The profile for an actuator can also be set
to vary in force or deflection during the execution of a test
recipe.
Typical
tests performed on the Centipede 1200 include:

Keyboard
or Keypad Durability: Simulating keystrokes of 10 Million
cycles on a product. Evaluating the keys, domes, scissors,
switches, texture, printing

Internally
Package Components: Simulating loads transmitted through a
user interface to internal boards or components.
Evaluating the effect of repeated load on packaged components.
