HSP 400 Heat Sink Press

The Servo Heat Sink Press is an automated piece of equipment used for applying heat sinks with pressure sensitive thermal tape to printed circuit board chips.  The press is designed to apply a programmed force for a programmed period of time to a placed heat sink.  The press is done by utilizing a servo press head closed loop around a load cell (max. press force 150 lbs).  The X & Y axis are also servo driven enabling extremely fast press point to press point moves.

The system can handle 20+ different heat sinks on a single board.  These heatsinks can be different heights and require unique pressures and times.  The software also allows each unique Board profiles to be stored for later use.

Set-up of the system is extremely fast and simple.  Customers typically use their wave solder pallets as the fixture to support the board.  DAC also provides the service of designing the fixture to support the board.  The press points can be programmed by uploading a press position file or the press positions can be taught using the Press Head Joystick.

The design of the Servo Heat Sink Press enable our customers to produce repeatable, high quality heat sink assemblies on their PCB's.
